The Alakai Wilderness Preserve: For anyone that loves a great hike, this is the area to do it. It’s also known as the Alaka’i swamp because of the bogs that are native to this area of Hawaii. And, since the preserve is located on the plateau that sits on Mount Wai’ale’ale, you will find that it really lives up to being one of the wettest places on Earth. Almost constantly covered in a misty cloud, it’s very mysterious and romantic at the same time.

Hanalei Bay: While this is the biggest bay on the North Shore of Kauai, it’s also one of the most beautiful beaches to be found anywhere. Hanalei’s soft sandy beaches are surrounded by beautiful green mountains making it a picture perfect place to call home. And, for those that love the convenience of a town close by, the quaint town of Hanalei sits right in the middle of the bay.

Ke’e Beach: This is the ideal area for a vacation home. It offers some the best unspoiled real estate on the island, and if you have children and love swimming and snorkeling, then this is about the best Kauai real estate you could purchase. The water is clear and quiet, with few currents and next to no waves. It offers some of the most spectacular gardens you will ever see, and is also a nature preserve. Wailua River State Park: This park is home to some of the most gorgeous scenery to be found on Kauai and to great outdoor sports such as kayaking and canoeing. One thing that the Grand Canyon doesn’t have is a massive volcano in the middle, which is what helped to create the Waimea Canyon in the first place.
