Kauai Real Estate Is Diverse

By Ellen Gentry March 7, 2010

If you are thinking of purchasing real estate in Hawaii, Kauai offers a slice of paradise that you would find it very difficult to refuse. It is heavenly beyond belief and the perfect spot if you are seeking natural beauty difficult to compare with anywhere else on earth. It offers scenery to meet anybody’s needs, and enables you to find exactly what you want for your heaven on earth. Here are six beautiful choices for you:

The Alakai Wilderness Preserve: For anyone that loves a great hike, this is the area to do it. It’s also known as the Alaka’i swamp because of the bogs that are native to this area of Hawaii. And, since the preserve is located on the plateau that sits on Mount Wai’ale’ale, you will find that it really lives up to being one of the wettest places on Earth. Almost constantly covered in a misty cloud, it’s very mysterious and romantic at the same time.

Hanalei Bay: While this is the biggest bay on the North Shore of Kauai, it’s also one of the most beautiful beaches to be found anywhere. Hanalei’s soft sandy beaches are surrounded by beautiful green mountains making it a picture perfect place to call home. And, for those that love the convenience of a town close by, the quaint town of Hanalei sits right in the middle of the bay.

Ke’e Beach: This is the ideal area for a vacation home. It offers some the best unspoiled real estate on the island, and if you have children and love swimming and snorkeling, then this is about the best Kauai real estate you could purchase. The water is clear and quiet, with few currents and next to no waves. The climate is fabulous here on the Na Pali coastline, and you couldn’t ask for more if you want solitude and peace away from the city. There is some great land around here to buy for a fabulous vacation home.

Limahuli Garden and Preserve: This is an area of Kauai that you will love if you like scenery, and find walking and hiking relaxing. This area was given the top award by the Hawaiian Tourism Authority and has also been given the award for the best botanical garden in the USA. It offers some of the most spectacular gardens you will ever see, and is also a nature preserve. The photographic opportunities here are peerless, and there are plenty of Realtors in the area that will sell you a piece of land here: you can own your own piece of heaven on earth, because that’s what this Kauai Real Estate is. Sheer heaven!

Wailua River State Park: This park is home to some of the most gorgeous scenery to be found on Kauai and to great outdoor sports such as kayaking and canoeing. You will find magnificent views here such as the 150-foot Opaeka’a Falls, a breathtaking waterfall you simply have to see to believe. There are a couple of residential neighborhoods surrounding the park from which to enjoy the area’s natural beauty and river activities.

Waimea Canyon State Park: While it is not near as deep as the Grand Canyon, it is more stunning as it’s filled with beautiful, lush trees, flowers, rare bird species only found in Kauai, and other wonderful sights. One thing that the Grand Canyon doesn’t have is a massive volcano in the middle, which is what helped to create the Waimea Canyon in the first place.

These are only six of the wonderful areas you’ll find on Kauai. There are other communities and towns on Kauai, each of which offers their own charm, you’ll want to check out. There’s no shortage of beautiful locations and residences on Kauai from which to find your dream home.
